Alexander Godány Sándor
Professional Artist
Alexander Godány
Born in Blatná na ostrove on March 15, 1953, aleander Godány lives and works in Holice na ostrove. He studied graphic arts and painting with renowned artists Pál Skriba and Július Bartal. His talent was recognized early, but he shaped and built his career independently. From the very beginning of his career, he thoroughly studied the available professional literature and the knowledge of artistic techniques. While traveling abroad, he visited various museums (Bologna, Florence, Venice, Milan, Dresden, Berlin, Munich, Vienna) where he studied the works of the great masters and modern art. According to his own admission, he was particularly fascinated by Italian and Spanish painting.
Godány’s poetic philosophy, in its simplest form, is nothing more than the representation of the relationship between landscape and human. This concept applies to many of his works bearing the same title and could even be called a series. „Metamorphosis,“ „Without a Score,“ and „Gammapolis“ showcase an universal motif world. With this emotional depth, he aimed to make the message of his paintings more complete and, if you will, to stimulate reflection and dialogue among the viewers of his works.
As a member of the International Association of Art Critics, Joan Luis Montané shared the following opinion on Godány’s works: “In these works, he masterfully disrupts nature’s harmony with so-called tension lines. These tension lines almost shatter nature, and in some of his paintings, one can see the uncertainty caused by the advancement of the entire universe, which the modern world is experiencing and which negatively affects the environment. Aleander Godány depicts the tragedy of our existence, showing that, in fact, we are one with nature, yet we are increasingly alienated from it. His paintings convey the deep thoughts and emotions of humanity, so much so that, through his unique artistic technique, even the perspectival depth can be felt in the painting.”
I am very pleased that alexander Godány’s artistic world has significantly expanded, carrying a universal message that he is able to communicate effectively to the viewers.
